Leaf Stitch

The area where threads cross creates a central vein. The length of diagonal stitches is gently graduated, which distinguishes it from open Fishbone stitch, worked at a more acute angle.

Step 1. Come up at A, go down at B, and come up at C. Go down at D to form central cross, and come up at E, directly in line with A. Go down at E.

Step 2. Continue in this way to form a bank of stitches crossed in the center. Graduate Stitch length, and be sure that the spaces between each stitch are even.
